PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of the titled compound by directly using a specified TDI distillation residue intermediate without any step of modification or pulverization, by reacting said intermediate with a polyol in the presence of an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:A modified TDI distillation intermediate obtained by reacting a TDI distillation residue left after distilling a phosgenation reaction product of toluenediamine with a monohydroxyl compound of a MW of 32-150 (e.g., methanol) at an equivalent ratio, OH/NCO, of 0.2-9/1 is reacted with a polyol of a MW of 106-3,000 (e.g., diethylene glcyol) in the presence of an organic solvent (e.g., monochlorobenzene) to obtain the titled compound of an OH value of 200- 700mgKOH/g. This compound is reacted with an organic polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent to obtain a polyurethane foam.
