MANUFACTURE OF LIGHT-STORING FLUORESCENT GLASS PLATE USED FOR DEMARCATION LINE OF ROAD OR THE LIKE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a light-storing fluorescent glass plate suitable for demarcation lines of roads having excellent visibility and without any deterioration due to ultraviolet light by dispersing a fluorescent substance, ZnS', in ZnO matrix glass, and quenching the obtained melt to vitrify. CONSTITUTION:The desired light-storing fluorescent glass plate is obtained by dispersing a fluorescent substance, ZnS', into ZnO matrix glass, and quenching the obtained melt to vitrify. The obtained light-storing fluorescent glass is capable of shining for about 5-20min at night or in the rain by the irradiation of light from an automobile at a site about 20m apart from the plate, and the deterioration in fluorescence and the blackening of the fluorescent substance are not caused by long-period exposure to ultraviolet light.
