PREPARATION OF HIGHLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE, CONTAINING IMMOBILIZED ENZYME, AND ACTIVE TO ENZYMIC REACTION

PURPOSE:To immobilize a substance active to an enzymic reaction efficiently by easy operations and improve remarkably the activity thereof, by adding polyethylene glycol to a photocrosslinkable polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) derivative containing the substance active to the enzymic reaction, and irradiating the substance with light. CONSTITUTION:(B) Polyethylene glycol is added to (A) a photocrosslinkable polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) derivative, expressed by the formula (R1 is H, alkyl or aralkyl; R2 is H or alkoxyl; X- is an anion of a strong acid; Z is an atomic group forming an aromatic heterocyclic ring containing notrogen; m is an integer 1-6; n is 0 or 1; a is 0.5-10mol%; b is 99.5-70mol%; c is 0-30mol%), and containing a substance active to an enzymic reaction, and the resultant mixture is then irradiated with light. The irradiation of the mixture after adding the compound (B) with the light provides the efficient immobilization of the substance active to the enzymic reaction, e.g. invertase, and remarkable improvement in the activity thereof.
