MAGNETIC TAPE CONTACT ANGLE ADJUSTING MACHANISM

PURPOSE:To adjust a head tape angle, to prevent characteristic deterioration due to abrasion of the head, and to extend head exchanging time by rotating an off- center guide. CONSTITUTION:Off-center guides 12 and 13 are provided around off-center shaft 15 and 16 in the arrow direction so that the guides can rotate. When the contact part with a tape 14 of a head 11 has abrasion after using it for a long time, output characteristics deteriorate. However, when the off-center guides 12 and 13 are rotated in this case, the head lap angle of the tape changes. Therefore, output characteristic deterioration of the head can be prevented by adjusting the rotational amount of the off-center guides 12 and 13 so that the head lap angle will change until it can prevent output characteristic deterioration of the head, and a head exchanging time can be extended. The rotational amount of the off- center guides 12 and 13 can be judged accurately and easily by the level while obseroing the reading wavelength of the head.
