PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out good carding and spinning, etc. with saved energy without winding fibers around rolls, by irradiating the fibers with microwaves at a specific frequency under heating in local temperature control in a spinning step. CONSTITUTION:A heating chamber 3 is provided at a position just before feeding a lap 2 preferably used in a card of a spinning step to a taker-in roll 1 or a sliver 10 used in the fine spinning of the spinning step preferably to a roll stand 9, and a microwave generating apparatus 5 is provided in the heating chamber 3 through a waveguide tube 4. Microwaves at 1-100GHz frequency generated from the above-mentioned microwave generating apparatus 5 are passed through the waveguide tube 4 to irradiate the lap 2 or sliver 10 in the heating chamber 3. The lap 2 or sliver 10 is heated and fed to the taker-in roll 1 or roll stand 9.
