RETRACTION OF PENETRATOR IN SOFT GROUND IMPROVING WORK

PURPOSE:To raise the speed of a long penetrator by a method in which a retraction pulley is pivotally supported on the upper end of the penetrator and engaged with a wire whose one end is coupled to a weight, and the wire is wound up to separate the weight from the support face. CONSTITUTION:A retractor consists of the wire winding drum 3 of a motor winch 11 for retraction, mounted on a construction machine 1 and a retraction pulley 9 pivotally supported on the upper end of a penetrator. One end of the retracting wire 10 is connected to a weight W and then to an upper retracting pulley 9, and the other end is wound around the drum 3. The drum 3 is rotationally lifted up to an extent that the weight W is not contacted with the base B all the time according to the speeds of penetration. A retraction amount as much as about 2 times the weight set can thus be obtained, and stable construction work can be attained without burdening of loads more than necessary to the construction machine.
