PURPOSE:To improve the resistance characteristic to weld cracking, stress corrosion cracking and fatigue strength of a weld zone and the part near the same in the stage of arc welding by using a high-Ni martensitic stainless steel welding rod and heating the weld zone and the part near the same to the Ar1 transformation point or above by a heat treatment after welding. CONSTITUTION:Base metals consisting of a 13 Cr martensitic stainless steel are arc-welded by a martensitic stainless steel welding rod which yields deposited metal contg. Ni at the content of Ni of said base metals or above and =10wt%. The weld zone and the part near the same are heated to the Ar1 transformation point or above after such welding. The residual tensile stress near the weld zone generated by arc welding of the above-described base metals is thus decreased and the purpose is achieved.
