NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (n is 5 or 6; R1 is the group of amine based atomic group consisting of piperidinyl or piperazinyl substituted by phenyl, tetrahydropyridinyl, dibenzylamino or tetrahydroisoquinolinyl or group of mercapto based atomic group consisting of lower alkyl substituted tetrazolylthio, pyridinylthio and lower alkylthio; R2 is H or OH). EXAMPLE:20,23-Dideoxy-20-(4-phenylpiperidino)-23-hexamethyleneiminomyc aminosyl relonolide. USE:A growth inhibitor. PREPARATION:A novel 20,23-dideoxy-20-halo-23-alkyleneimino mycaminosyl relonolide of formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with an amine compound or mercapto compound of the formula H-R1. The starting raw material of formula IIcan be produced from 23-deoxy-23-hexamethyleneimino-mycaminosyl tylonolide.
