PURPOSE:To input a Japanese language sentence as usual pronunciation to obtain a character string mixed with Kanji (Chinese character) and Kana (Japanese syllabary) by providing a voice input means, a dictionary storage means, a dictionary retrieving means, a Kana character changing means, and generating means of character strings mixed with Kanji and Kana. CONSTITUTION:A voice input means 1 recognizes a pronounced Japanese language sentence to output a Kana character string. A dictionary having readings and inscriptions of plural words at least is stored in a dictionary storage means 2. A dictionary retrieving means 3 uses the whole or a part of a Kana character string as a key to retrieve the dictionary and obtains inscriptions. A Kana character changing means 4 substitutes a part of Kana characters constituting a partial kana character string, which is not used by the dictionary retrieving means, out of the Kana character string with another Kana characters. A generating means 5 of character strings mixed with Kanji and Kana generates a character string mixed with Kanji and Kana from the partial Kana character string and outputs it. Thus, even with respect to the Japanese language where there is a difference between pronunciation and inscription, a Japanese language sentence is inputted as usual pronunciation to obtain a character string mixed with Kanji and Kana without paying attention to this difference.
