QUENCHING DEVICE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE HIGH PRESSURE REACTION VESSEL

PURPOSE:To enable quenching for the reaction in an internal reaction vessel by providing an internal reaction vessel almost concentrically in a cylindrical high temp. and high pressure reaction vessel, communicating both inside spaces of the external and internal vessels at near the inlet of the internal vessel and providing also a coiled pipe cooler to the outside periphery of the internal vessel. CONSTITUTION:A thin-walled internal vessel 10 is provided almost concentrically in a high temp. and high pressure reaction vessel 1 having an ordinary shape. A small hole 11 is bored at near the inlet of said internal vessel 10 to communicate the inside and outside space 12, 13 in order to carry out a reaction in the internal vessel 10. Further, a coiled pipe cooler 14 is provided to the outside periphery of the internal vessel 10 to perform quenching of the reaction vessel 1 by passing a coolant through the cooler 14 simultaneously with suspension of heating after a specified reaction time is elapsed. By this method, quenching of a high temp. and high pressure reaction vessel is enabled.
