APPARATUS FOR RETURNING SHIFT TO NEUTRAL FOR MULTIISPEED GEAR TRANSMISSION

PURPOSE:To return the shift to neutral from any speed stage at a stroke with a single action by means of shallow cam grooves provided on a cylindrical cam, which turns to allow a shift folk to slide thereon for transmission, in series with neutral cam grooves. CONSTITUTION:Since neutral cam groove sections 5a, 6a and 7a and mating cam groove sections 5b, 6b and 7b are provided on a cylindrical cam 2 in series with each other respectively, a shift folk engaging with the cam grooves slides to change speed when the cam 2 is rotated. To return the shift to neutral from other position at a stroke, a control knob 22 is pulled to allow a third arm 18 to turn clockwise. Furthermore, with turning of a first arm 13 counterclockwise and a second arm 14 clockwise, eccentric shafts 3 and 3' are turned so that the shift folk is lifted up onto the bottom of shallow cam groove sections 5c, 6c and 7c. When the knob 22 is pulled further, a sector wheel 29 allows the cam 2 to turn to neutral through a gear 26 and a one-way clutch 28.
