PURPOSE:To enable to rapidly generate artificial verdigris with good adhesibility on a copper surface while undercoating treatment is carried out at the same time, by limiting copper sulphate, sodium chloride, ammonium sulphate and potassium tartarate to a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:Per 1l of water, copper sulphate; 200-10g, sodium chloride; 50-3g. ammonium sulphate; 20-10g and potassium tartarate; 50-3g are compounded and dissolved to obtain an artificial verdigris solution. A copper product is immersed in the said solution or sprayed by the said solution and, thereafter, dried in a room temp. to generate artificial verdigris on a surface thereof. If a copper product is treated by this verdigris solution, a surface of a copper product is corroded by copper sulphate and sodium chloride, the surface thereof is appropriately roughened and, subsequently, artificial verdigris with good adhesivility is formed on the said roughened surface by the action of ammonium sulphate and potassium tartarate. Therefore, by treating a copper product by this verdigris solution at once, surface corrosion and verdigris generation can be carried out at the same time.
