PURPOSE:To obtain a practical gas discharge panel having a transition electrode construction able to realize display at the wide-ranging pitch by holding the relations among the width of a zonal transition electrode, the electrode pitch and a discharge gap formed by the facing substrates under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:When defining the width of a transition electrode as W, the electrode pitch as P and a discharge gap as (d), the construction shall satisfy the formula : tan-1[2a/(P-2W)]/tan-1(2a/W)=1.5. Thereby, the transition electrode pitch can obtain more than 20V within the range from about 0.1mm. to about 2.0mm. presuming that the charge inputted from a write electrode 3 is the margin value of the transition operation to be displayed by discharge transition electrodes 4 and 5 thus being able to be put to practical use.
