PURPOSE:To increase the strength of water-containing poor subsoil, economically and efficiently, and to utilize the industrial wastes as a resource, by adding and mixing water-containing poor subsoil with quenched blast-furnace slag powder modified with sulfuric acid and Portland cement. CONSTITUTION:The strength of water-containing poor subsoil is improved by adding and mixing water-containing poor subsoil with (A) quenched blast-furnace slag powder (=300mu in diameter) modified with pref. 30-500g, based on 1kg of the slag, of sulfuric acid and then with (B) Portlant cement. The weight ratio of (A)/ (B) is pref. 70/30-35/65. The amount of the strength-improving agent to be added to the subsoil is pref. 50-100kg of (A)+(B) (as dried) per 1m3 of the water-containing poor subsoil. EFFECT:It can be applied even to a water-containing poor subsoil containing a large amount of organic material or to the one containing as much as 500-1,000% of water.
