PURPOSE:The outer diameter of the lap on winding completion is made smaller than the outer diameter of a pair of the lap drums on which a bobbin is placed, thus producing a large-package lap of good-quality. CONSTITUTION:The outer diameter of the lap is made smaller than those of a pair of lap drums 1, 2 which are used for winding. Since the depth 7 of the lap drums 1, 2 biting into the lap 4 can be stopped very small, the licking hardly takes place on rewinding of the lap in the next stage, because very small rub- unwinding is required on the lap surface.
