METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR JUDGING FURNACE CONDITIONS OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To enable the furnace conditions to be judged repidly and accurately, by equipping the television camera provided with a high-speed shutter at the viewing window of tuyere for the blast of the blast furnace, detecting the maxium luminance of stationary picture, computing the average grain size of coke and preparing the histogram of grain size. CONSTITUTION:The viweing window 3 is equipped at the rear end of the tuyere 2 of te blast furnace 1 and the television camera 5 provided with a high-speed shutter is equipped behind time viewing window 3. By setting the speed of the above shuttor at 3musec.-1 m sec., the coke whirling at high speed in the raceway 1' is caught as the stationary pictur. The signal of this picture is inputted to the treating device 22 for te picture through the controller 6 for the television camera, the processing and controlling device 7 for the signal and the picture memory device 10 for data processing, the maximum luminance of the stationary picture, the average grain diameter of coke and the average length of coke are computed, at the same time, the number of coke grains is counted at every grain diameter, the histogram of the grain size of coke is prepared, is displayed and recorded at the displaying device 21. On the basis of each of these data, the furnace condition is judged.
