An oven for heating streams of molecules has at least one tubular resistance heater with the gas circulating outside and inside it and at least one heat shield which surrounds it coaxially. A cooling medium circuit surrounds the heat shield(s) and the ends of the heater. A housing is fed with gas which goes to the outside of the heater. A mouthpiece screws into the housing opposite the outlet end of the heater. The ring shaped region between the heater and the mouthpiece is connected to gas pump. For heating gas molecules to high temperatures - up to 3000K.
