The fire-door has a central symmetrical insulating panel covered on each face by a layer of mineral wool of high density. Alternatively, the outer layers can be of plastics foam or insulating panels. The thickness of the outer layers is selected to determine the performance of the door. - The outer surfaces of the composite are enclosed by sheet steel, or fire resistant material panels, the peripheral edges of which are retained by screws.
