Opaque polyethylene for caulking mastics in building work - to suppress excessive hardening by exposure to light or moisture

An opaque film of polyethylene is applied to the surface of a polymeric mastic applied to gap or joints in building construction, e.g. between door or window frames and adjacent wall interfaces, to inhibit post-hardening of the mastic by ageing. Pref. the cover becomes bonded to the mastic surface during its initial setting process.
