The cutting table is angled to the ground and each duct is flanked by endless belt drives (6) driven by vertical axis rollers. The whole plants are gripped and cut and pulled into the machine. Grip rollers (16) pull the stalks into the harvester while stripping drives (17) remove corn cobs or flower heads. The plants are guided between the belt drives and by guide flanges (25) over the cutting table. The stripping drives and the grip rollers are adjustable to suit different crops.
