Vest-type lifting device for patient - has hooks for lifting hook pile fastener-secured vest which provides support for lower ribs

When unfolded, the vest has two inflatable curved raised sections(4) which support the ribs when the vent is folded in overlapping fashion. Hook-pile fasteners secure the vest at the front. The vest completely encloses the patients back and lower abdomen. The top part of the vest reaches just under the arm pits. Hooks (3) enable nursing staff to lift the patient e.g. in and out of invalid chairs, to carry out toilet functions.
