Securing e.g. sectional window sill to sill beam - using coupling strip with bends arranged to shorten strip when end is driven into beam

The method is intended for tightly securing one component to another, e.g. a sectional plastics window sill to a wooden sill beam. It uses elements each having its opposite ends securable to the respective components, after which the distance between its two securing points is reduced. Each element consists of a permanently deformable strip, pref. of mild steel or possibly stainless steel or copper. The strip has bends in opposite directions which are further bent through under the action of a force, e.g. a hammer blow, such that the distance is reduced. The element has two lips shaped to engage a T-section groove in the sill and two pointed prongs (8) driven into the face of the beam.
