The blanket consists of parallel, mutually overlapping strips which are connected to one another at longitudinally spaced points. The strips consist of strong material, such as canvas, and pref. overlap one another in a downward direction from the central dorsal line of the animal. The blanket is pref. secured by straps around the animal's body and/or legs, the neck or below the tail, and may serve as protection for the udder. The material may be light-reflective, multi-coloured, may carry lettering or contain anti-pest agents.
