The press forms a tangential extension piece on a pipe bend of less than 180 degrees, having a fixed shaping tool bearing against the outside of the bend and a movable head against the inside. Each tool has a portion enclosing the end of the bend, and the movable head has a portion shaped to form the extension and fitting inside it. The movable head (104) travels in a direction at right angles to the centre line of the extension, while its shaping portion (107) acts solely against the inside of the outside wall (110) of the bend.
