ABSTRACTProcess for dumping of waste materials in undergroundsalt enclosed cavities, by introducing the particulatesolid waste materials by trickling or by pumping inthe mixture of solid and liquid waste materials,characterized in that the rock salt solution containedin the salt cavern is pumped out, after which theparticulate solid waste materials are treated withdust suppressant agents to form free-flowing, non-dusting, readily usable mixtures, or that the saltcavern filled with rock salt solution is filledwith pumpable waste materials in such a way thatthe displaced volume of salt solution is filledwith pumpable waste materials in such a way that thedisplaced volume of salt solution ist pumped out and,after filling the cavern to about two thirds to threequarters of its volume, the water of the liquid phaseis bound in the form of water of crystallizationor as hydroxide or physically by adsorption throughaddition of hydrophilic compounds or substances asa means of solidifying it and that the cavern is thensealed.
