A mine (1) for burial in war has an explosive effect which develops in a horizontal sense. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the mine (1) is rotatably mounted on a frame (2) and, when activated, is rotated out of the ground (T) before it explodes. The rotation of the mine (1) is caused by a powder motor (32) subject to an external control such as a trip device (37), while the explosion of the mine (1) is caused automatically by a cam (28) when it reaches a predetermined angle of rotation.
