The additive improves the deg. of desulphurisation. It includes quicklime and at the most 50% Ca aluminate. The additive is made from Ca carbonate and Al oxide for (or cpds. including there). They are burned in a rotary furnace by sintering within a temp. interval of +1- 50 deg.C of the sintering temp. Ca aluminate and Ca oxide are formed. Conditions in the furnace are controlled so that the Ca aluminate content amounts to at the most 50% esp. 20%. (Provisional Basic previously advised in Week 8519)
