Laminated textile web is produced from a woven fabric, one side of which serves as a carrier for a layer of uniformly distributed fibres which are bonded to the fabric. The webs are used for making clothing, collars or cuffs requiring folding about 180 degrees. It is dimensionally reinforced and pleats produced do not lead to differential layer movements resulting in rucking. Pref. the woven fabric is a cotton web and the fibres are bonded to the weft and warp yarns at their points of intersection using an adhesive. Spot welding may also be used. Fibre coated side of web may be imparted with a surface finish.
