The plug is for use in wash basins or bidets, is of the type which is displaced by a knob operated linkage system and is attached to the linkage by a spring-clip type connection. The plug comprises a mushroom type head which screws axially onto the top of an axial connecting rod. The assembly is displaced axially relative to a bell mouthed outlet pipe to effect closure or vice versa. The base of the con-rod is attached to the extremity of an approx. diametric pivoting link. This latter connection is made by passing the link end through an opening in the con-rod. The opening is extended to the end of the link by a continuous diametric slot. The slot is of a lesser width than the link dia. which is inserted forcibly and retained in position.
