Heat-stable heterocyclic consists of units of formula (A): (where R is (i) is a 2-3C organic gp. or (ii) a 25-1000 C organic gp., or (iii) an organic gp. with 2-3 or 25-1000 C atoms and contg. 1-1000 Si and/or 1-1000 F and/or 1-1000 Cl and/or 1-1000 Br and/or 1-1000 N and/or 1-1000 S and/or 1-1000 P and/or 1-1000 B and/or 1-1000 O atoms, or (iv) a gp. with 4-24C contg. 2-1000 Si and/or 7-1000 F and/or 2-1000 S and/or 1-1000 Br and/or 3-1000 N and/or 2-1000 S and/or 2-1000 P and/or 1-1000 B and/or 4-1000 P atoms; R1 is a 2-1000 C organic gp. or a gp. contg. 2-1000 C, 1-1000 Si and/or 1-1000 F, and/or 1-1000 Cl and/or 1-1000 Br and/or 1-1000 N and/or 1-1000 S and/or 1-10000 P and/or 1-1000 B and/or 1-1000 O atoms; and X is -NH- or -O-). (I) are used as tools and in electrical industry, electronics, machine- and aeroplane construction, e.g. as textolites, adhesives, abrasive tools, coatings, filters. The polymers resist 300-350 degrees C. for long periods and retain their dielectric properties at 300-400 degrees C.
