Material contains substd. tris-aminophenyl-methane cpd(s). of formula (I) as colour former (in which R1 and R2 are H, lower alkyl, benzyl or Ph; rings A, B, D and E are opt. substd. by halogen, NO2, carboxy, CF3 or lower alkyl or alkoxy (carbonyl)). (I) are (almost) colourless and give intense violet, blue and green colours having excellent light fastness with an acid developer. Blue, marine blue, grey or black colours can be obtd. using a mixt. with other colour formers.
