The machine for conversion of plastics materials e.g. polyethylene, low-pressure polyethylene and polypropylene, into powder, consists of a wide, horizontal rotary screw of Archimedes thread type with progressively-decreasing spiral helix; a hopper for the materials previously dried by usual means, the hopper being provided with two horizontal parallel shafts, each equipped with vanes; and a later and final zone in which insoluble residues accumulate.
