Method for preparing a modified Strain of the virus of Infectious diarrhea in cattle.Is to put a virus strain of bovine viral diarrhea in contact with a Chemical Mutagen such as Nitrous acid at room temperature under operating conditions such that the initial virus titer is reduced by a factor of 2 to 3 log10 and isolated by cultivation and Evaluation. JC and 395jc respectively a temperature Sensitive Mutant shows a difference in titers between 35jc approximately 3 log10 TCID50 and 39,5jc. The Strain of the virus is in contact with Nitrous acid for 1 to 15 minutes in an aqueous solution buffered to a pH between 5 and 6.
