OXYGEN INJECTION LANCE JET FOR DECARBURIZING GREY IRON, AND ITS USE FOR DECARBURIZING CHROME ALLOYED GREY IRON

A nozzle concerning the decarburization of liquid cast irons by means of an oxygen jet coming from a lance equipped with such a nozzle. This nozzle is characterized by a divergent which comprises beyond the neck a frustoconical part with an angle at the top between 60 and 70.degree. and preferably between 62 and 66.degree .. The angle of 65.degree. is close to the optimum. And a process for the decarburization of chromium cast irons by means of such a nozzle which allows very high yields of chromium and iron to be obtained.
