TREATMENT OF SODIUM TUNGSTATE LEACH LIQUORCONTAINING DISSOLVED SILICA,PHOSPHORUS, AND FLUORINE IMPURITIESABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREBasic sodium tungstate leach liquor is treated toreduce the concentration dissolved therein of silica,phosphorus and fluorine impurities in a process whichcomprises providing a small but effective amount of magnesiumin the liquor to maximize removal of silica and phosphorusfrom solution in the liquor while maintaining the liquortemperature between about 60°C and about 100°C and theliquor pH between about 9 and about 11, filtering theliquor, adjusting the liquor pH to between about 6 and about8 and the liquor temperature to between about 20°C andabout 60°C, and then providing a small but effective amountof aluminum hydroxide in the filtered liquor to maximizeremoval of fluorine from solution in the liquor whilemaintaining the liquor temperature between about 20°C andabout 60°C and the liquor pH between about 6 and about8.
