ANTI-COUNTERFEIT PROGRAM TICKET AND SYSTEM THEREFOR

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREApparatus for detecting counterfeit performancetickets is disclosed. A performance ticket has machinereadable coded information in a visible form relating tothe performance nature, date and time and in aninvisible form encoding additional information unique tothe performance. The apparatus comprises a device forreceiving the ticket and machine reading the first andsecond codes of the ticket. The device has aprogrammable memory which stores the correct informationof the first and second codes. The machine readinformation is compared to the stored information. Inthe event of a match, a stub portion is removed from theticket and returned to the patron. In the event of anon-match, an alarm is actuated to indicate either afaulty ticket or a counterfeit ticket. A process forprinting the invisible code is disclosed.
