POLYOXYALKYLENES CONTAINING ALKALINECATALYST RESIDUES CHELATEDWITH BENZOIC ACID DERIVATIVESAbstract of the DisclosureThe oxidation promoting harmful effects of thepresence of an alkaline catalyst in a polyoxyalkylene can beeliminated and the product made more resistant to oxidationespecially at elevated temperatures by the incorporationtherein of soluble salts of certain benzoic acid deriva-tives. The soluble salts can be formed by reaction with thealkali or alkaline earth metal ion derived from the alkalinecatalyst utilized in the polymerization of the polyoxy-alkylene.
