METHOD FOR MAKING UREA PRILLS ANDUREA PRILLS OBTAINED BY APPLYING THIS METHODAbstract of the DisclosureA method for producing urea prills bypassing molten droplets of substantially water freeurea downwardly through a cooling zone countercur-rent to a cooling gas. A dispersion of crystallineparticles is maintained in at least a portion of thecooling zone, the crystalline particles having averagedimensions of between 2 and 10 microns and beingdispersed in the cooling gas in a quantity ofbetween about 8 and 25 mg per m3 of the cooling gasat ambient temperature and pressure, whereby urea prills,built up of relatively small crystallites with randomorientation having improved impact strength are formed.
