AbstractComplexes which are the reaction product of ametal salt, an organofunctional silane and water aredescribed which are useful in chemically-curing andnon-chemically-curing coating and adhesive compositions.Employment of the complexes in such compositions reducesthe adhesion loss often encountered when metal substratesto which compositions have been applied are exposed towater or water vapor. Also described are coating andadhesive compositions to which the metal salt and theorganofunctional silane have been added as separatecomponents. These compositions also exhibit reducedadhesion loss when exposed to water or water vapor.
