It is based on sulphonated chlorination products of natural or synthetic higher fatty acid triglycerides in the form of the alkali metal, ammonium or amine salts. The starting materials are products obtained by chlorosulphonation of advantageously fully chlorine-presaturated mixtures of higher C12-24-fatty acid triglycerides and C6-20-fatty acid esters of monohydric C1-3-alcohols or mineral oils and subsequent hydrolysis. The reaction temperature is 20-90 DEG C. By irradiation with UV it is possible to achieve addition of 5-30% by weight of chlorine and 1-20% by weight of SO2Cl groups (ratio Cl-:SO2Cl- = from 0.7:1 to 70:1).
