1. A solid material having olephitic and hydropholic properties and which is adapted to continue to float absorption of oils, characterized in that it is constituted by a hydraulic binder adapted to cause setting upon mixing with water in the presence of at least one foaming agent, and to which a water-repellent agent is associated, the volume of open pores and the total volume of pores of said material meeting the relation : (volume of open pores)/(total volume of pores) (1-dA )/dH (1-0,4dA ) wherein : dA = apparent density of the material ; dH = density of the oil to be absorbed.
