Process for making an envelope insulating the transition part between multiple flat cables and arrays of contacting plugs and sockets connected to their conductors, and a multiple flat cable with an array of contacting plugs and sockets connected to its conductors and with an insulating envelope provided at the transition part between the conductors and the plug or socket array. An insulating envelope at the transition part between multiple flat cables and arrays of contacting plugs and sockets connected to their conductors are produced by injection moulding of thermoplastic plastic, an evenly shaped moulded body being formed which makes the said transition part mechanically and electrically robust.
