The washing tower comprises a nozzle for slurry supplying at the upper part, a slurry distributor, vertical leg section at the lower part, cleaning soln. supplying nozzle, outlet of slurry cleaner(established through the wall) for eliminating the cleaned slurry, outlet of cleaner for cleaner(established through the wall). Slurry and cleaning soln. are counter current contacts which are supplied by the nozzle. Counter current washing towers are effective for washing, and no stirring apparatus is necessary.
