Method for recovering useful materials from mixed waste of building construction and equipment for carrying out the method

The system sorts mixed scrap material from the construction industry to extract any valuable material. The mixed scrap is loaded into a screening machine (3) and the material (4) passing through the screen undergoes further sorting. The material which does not pass through the screen is transported by a conveyor (7) to a hopper (8) and after breaking up, a grab (9) transfers the material to a station (12) where pieces of wood (13) are removed by hand. Iron is removed at a further station (18) and the material is separated into fine (22) and coasse (24) fractions at another station (20). The coasse fraction is separated into light and heavy fractions and non-ferrous metals are removed in later stages.
