The device has a transmitter circuit providing an electromagnetic field with two different transmission frequencies. The two transmitters (10,11) each have a ferrite antenna (12,13) these lying perpendicular to one another within the housing of the device. The two transmission frequencies are selected to ensure that the transmitted signals from different devices are received at different reception frequencies. Alternatively, the two antenna rods (12,13) lie parallel to opposite sides of the housing with a screening between them, or a common rod carries two antenna coils spaced as far apart as possible. A switch may allow either transmitter to be used independently. The device prevents interference with similar devices close by.
