The shielding wall according to the invention, which can preferably be used as a goaf wall, consists of at least three wall elements which are guided against one another via guide bars and corresponding bar guides. In this arrangement, the top wall element has at least two suspended vertical guide bars which, when this wall element is raised, run against stop pieces of the centre wall element and subsequently carry the latter along. To extend the shielding wall, it conveniently has a hydraulic prop designed as a double telescopic prop.
