A stud press for setting a stud article on a carrier web by means of deformable fastening elements, having a lower tool, serving as abutment during the stud setting, and a raisable upper tool, wherein the upper parts and the lower parts of the stud articles, which parts come disposed in guide paths from supply containers, can be fed in cycles by slides through guides to receptacles, a tool being provided on the guide path, bringing the stud-article parts from the respective supply containers, said tool carrying out the final operation on the stud article for the specific application and being actuated with the slide feeding the stud articles in cycles to the tool receptacles.
