The invention relates to a method and a device for checking the adjustment of the individual mirrors of heliostats (2) of a solar power station. In order to obtain a rapid overview of the adjustment of the individual mirrors of the heliostat installation, said installation or a part thereof is illuminated by a light source, preferably the moon (6), which delivers a parallel beam, and imaged by a recording device, preferably a video camera (7) having a lens (8) of variable focal length. This image of the video camera can then be scanned with regard to the pixels of the light source employed and to the intensity distribution thereof, and compared with a reference image. This comparison is performed with the aid of a computer (10); the results of the checking are printed out using a printer (16). The printed-out results specify which individual mirrors must be readjusted. The adjustment status of an entire heliostat array can be rapidly surveyed with the aid of the invention. IMAGE
