A device for varying the pressures of the pressure medium in the pressure cylinders (32, 33) and the support device (20) of a press roll (18) comprises a swinging plate (42) on one side of which a signal converter (60, 70) is arranged for each pressure to be controlled. The invention aims to enable the pressing force to be adjusted without change in pressure distribution.
