With a hybrid drive arrangement comprising combustion engine, fan, heat exchanger and boundary layer blow-out device some of the waste heat energy, 2/3 of which has hitherto been lost, is converted into pressurised gas energy, which in the boundary layer control device serves for the reduction of aerodynamic resistance and in aircraft also for increasing the lift. The assignment of a pressurised gas reservoir briefly, for example when starting, can considerably enhance the effect of the lift-increasing and resistance-reducing blow-out device. A light expansion motor, which can possibly be provided and is insertable between pressure gas reservoir and blow-out arrangement, can also multiply the power of the means of propulsion such as drive wheels or air and water screws.
